Shannon O Stroope, MD, FAAP

Dr. Shannon Stroope was born in Kingston on Thames just outside of London, England. At 2 years of age she and her family moved to Houston, Texas. She grew up in a large family of 2 brothers and 2 sisters spending most of her time either in a swimming pool or at the beach. Her competitive swimming ultimately led to a scholarship and undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Dr. Stroope followed LSU with medical school at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. She completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine also in Houston.

Dr. Stroope is board certified in pediatric medicine and is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Texas Medical Association. While caring for all children is her passion, she takes a special interest in preventative health care such as fighting the childhood obesity epidemic, promoting childhood safety and parent education.

Dr. Stroope, her husband, twin daughters, and their yellow lab, Indy live in Pearland. She loves running and swimming and regularly competes in triathlons and marathons. When not exercising she and her husband spend time traveling, sailing, kayaking, hiking, and camping. Fall football weekends are spent traveling to and watching her beloved LSU Tigers and her hometown Texans.
